The governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai on April 7th,in a statement while giving closing remarks at the Kaduna State's investment programme made it known that he had no intentions of contesting for last year's election but was forced to it by the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.
He said, "it was President Muhammadu Buhari that forced me to contest for the governorship race of Kaduna State in revenge for persuading him to run the presidential race. If he had not asked me to run for governorship, I wouldn't have stood before you today as the governor of Kaduna State. "
