Gospel singer found dead in hotel room after meeting with a pastor she met on Facebook

Edo female gospel singer, Mrs Yvonne Omoarebokhae who met one Pastor Psalm Okpe of Fresh Oil Ministry on Facebook has been confirmed dead by the Police in Benin City, Edo State. Mrs Yvonne was found dead in a hotel in Benoni, GRA in Benin after she met with the pastor.

Her husband, Mr Odion said that his wife met Pastor Okpe on Facebook and after chatting for several months, the Pastor invited his wife to perform at his programme which was to be held in Benin, Warri and Asaba. According to him, he was well aware of their chats and arrangements to meet at the hotel.

Mr Odion said his wife left for Warri on Thursday in honour of the invitation she was given to perform at the program amd she had called him on Friday morning at about 10am to him inform him she would be home soon. He later got a call from his wife's phone at about 9:30pm that same day, it was the police asking him to report at Airport Road Police Station in Benin.

Mr Odion reported as requested and waited for over two hours and was later asked to go home without been told about his wife's whereabouts. He insisted on knowing about his wife and was told she was picked at a hotel in the GRA and rushed to the Benin Central Hospital where she was confirmed dead.

Mr Odion said he is yet to see his wife's corpse, to know what happened and who is responsible for her death. He expressed his bitterness and pain as he said "we have a son who will clock three by June 25."

The Edo State Police Commissioner, Chris Ezike, confirmed the death of the woman and also made it known that the pastor was taken into custody and investigations were ongoing.
