Members of the the Boko Haram terrorist group attacked Nigerian soldiers early on Monday in Kate to, Borno State.
The militants struck as the troops were on their way to the border of Damasak. The troops battled the insurgents greatly and the battle lasted for hours.
Scores of Boko Haram members were killed while 2 officers and 22 soldiers were injured and have been taken to the Military Hospital in Maiduguri for treatment.
