Surgeons save man's hand by attaching it to belly

I know you must be thinking it was an operation gone wrong, but no, it wasn't.

Carlos Marriotti had an injury while he was working using a production machine. It happened near his home in Orleans, Brazil.

The surgeons placed his left hand which had two fingers missing in his abdomen and held it down with a piece of skin.

According to Surgeon Boris Brandao, it was important to leave the hand there for at least six weeks so as to prevent infection that will lead to destruction of the hand.
