Four human parts dealers arrested

The Delta State Police Command, Asaba, have arrested four persons alongside two native doctors for involvement in sale of human parts.

The Command's image maker in the state, Mrs Celestina Kalu in a statement said the arrest of the men was made possible with a tip-off which the security operatives acted on.

It was gathered that the men were arrested with the hand of a man which was found in the boot of their car on their way to the eastern part of the country by security operatives who were on a stop-and-search duty.

The State's Police spokesperson said the leader of the gang who was identified as Samson, confessed during an interrogation that they sold human parts which were made available by mortuary workers and dare devil armed robbers. According to him, they sold the human parts to native doctors, who often lodged in a hotel behind a stadium in Asaba.
